Hello Parents and Guardians,

I hope you are doing well. I wanted to share a few highlights from this week at Arbour Lake School and provide some important updates as we head into the long weekend. We held our Remembrance Day ceremony today. Although we had to adjust our approach due to limited planning time and moved to an online format streamed into homerooms, it was nonetheless very meaningful and engaging. I want to extend a sincere thank you to Ms. MacDougall, Ms. Rehman, Mr. Eygenramm, Ms. Redding, Ms. Samuelson, and Ms. Tompkins for putting the program together so quickly. Our MCs Abigail, Siiri, Naomi, and Kasha did a wonderful job guiding the ceremony, and Tristan’s beautiful rendition of the Last Post added a very special touch. This event remains an important part of our fall programming and offers us the opportunity to pause and honour those who served so that we may live in a peaceful and safe Canada.

A few updates as we look ahead:

Athletics: Our basketball season has resumed. Practices took place this week, and we have two exhibition games scheduled later this month. Coaches will communicate directly with players and families as details are confirmed.

Clubs and Extracurricular Opportunities: As noted athletics has resumed, and Patrols have also resumed this week. All other clubs and extracurricular activities will begin again on November 17. We look forward to seeing students reconnect with activities they enjoy.

School Photos: School photos have been rescheduled. Originally planned for October, they will now take place on November 13, which is the first day back after fall break.

As we head into the weekend and the extended break next week, I wish you and your families a wonderful and restful time. If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out at nmlisi@cbe.ab.ca.

Warm regards,

Dr. Nancy Lisi
