Good afternoon Arbour Lake School families,

I hope you have all had a great week and are beginning to enjoy a bit more of the sunshine as we head further into spring. It has been a busy and engaging week at ALS, with many great things happening across the school.

We ended the week on a high note with our annual Grade 9 Market, which once again proved to be a highlight for both students and staff. Our Grade 9 students showcased incredible entrepreneurial spirit and creativity as they designed, created, and sold a wide variety of products. The gym was full of energy as students explored booths featuring everything from ice cream, popcorn, and bracelets to carnival games and some uniquely creative items like 3D printed otters! All proceeds from the market were donated to charity, adding an important layer of purpose and community contribution to the experience.

This event is a wonderful example of cross-curricular learning in action, and we are very proud of how our students brought together skills from multiple subject areas to make this a success. Kudos to all of our Grade 9 students for their effort and enthusiasm, and a sincere thank you to our teachers for their thoughtful planning and support in bringing this learning experience to life. It was a fantastic way to end the week.

Looking ahead to next week, we have spring photos scheduled for Monday. As well, a reminder to our Grade 6 families who have provided authorization and completed the required paperwork that vaccinations will take place on Tuesday.

Over the coming weeks, we will be asking families to confirm their intentions for next year as part of our planning process. While we are wrapping up the current school year, we are also beginning to look ahead to September. More information will be shared soon to support planning for classes, staffing, and programming.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. I hope you are able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions at nmlisi@cbe.ab.ca.

Sincerely,

Nancy Lisi
