Good afternoon Arbour Lake School families,
I hope you have all had a great week. This week we had the opportunity to recognize and celebrate Support Staff Appreciation Week. Our support staff play an essential role in the daily life of our school. Whether working directly with students, supporting classrooms, assisting in the office, or helping ensure the school runs smoothly, their care, professionalism, and commitment make a meaningful difference each and every day. We are very grateful for all that they do to support our students, staff, and community.
We also hosted Grade 5 Tours and were pleased to welcome our incoming Grade 6 students to the school this week. It was wonderful to see their excitement as they toured the building and began to get a sense of what Arbour Lake School is all about. We are very much looking forward to officially welcoming them in the fall.
Thank you to the parents and guardians who attended School Council earlier this week. Your engagement and support are greatly appreciated. Our Annual General Meeting will take place next month, and further details can be found in the announcements section. We are always looking for parents and guardians to become involved on Council for the upcoming school year. School Council plays an important role in supporting the school, and strong parent voice and participation are invaluable to our continued growth as a community.
A reminder that tomorrow is a professional learning day, and there are no classes for students. The focus of the day is “Maatoomsii’Pookaiks,” a Blackfoot term that speaks to coming together in a good way to learn, reflect, and move forward collectively. This learning supports our ongoing commitment to growth, understanding, and strengthening our practice in service of students as we continue to move forward toward Reconciliation.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need support.
Warm regards,
Nancy Lisi,
Principal, Arbour Lake School
