Good afternoon ALS families,
I hope this message finds you well. With colder winter weather now upon us, we wanted to provide a reminder about the importance of students coming to school dressed appropriately for the conditions. While we do call an indoor lunch when temperatures reach -20 or below, students in Grades 7 to 9 are not required to remain indoors. In addition, transportation delays can and do occur in winter, which means students may be outside for longer periods of time than anticipated. Warm jackets, hats, gloves, and appropriate footwear are essential. Please also note that school doors open at 7:50 am each morning. If students are dropped off earlier than this, they may be required to wait outside, so arriving dressed for the weather is especially important.
As we move into next week, we are excited to host our Spirit Week leading to the Winter Break. Please be sure to review the announcements for daily themes and details. It is a fun way for students and staff to come together and build community.
A few quick reminders for you:
▪ Photo retakes were on Monday, however if you ordered from the original set and your child did not need retakes, these packages were sent home this week.
▪ We are collecting for the Magic of Christmas. If you’re able to contribute, we are taking donations up until December 18th.
▪ Please keep the Celebrating our Coyotes submissions coming! We love to see what our students are accomplishing both in and out of school and we believe it is important to celebrate all their successes!
I wish you a wonderful weekend, stay warm, and as always, please feel free to reach out if there is anything I can assist with. I can be reached at nmlisi@cbe.ab.ca.
Warm regards,
Dr. Nancy Lisi
