Good afternoon Parents/Guardians,

I hope you’ve had a great week! There has been a lot happening at ALS this week including an exciting snowshoeing trip to Kananaskis, which was a fantastic experience for our students. We also had our Senior Boys and Junior Girls basketball teams face off against the teachers at lunch, which always brings out loads of students to watch and cheer on their teams.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Fall Festival of Learning. It was wonderful to see so many people and to share the amazing work our students are doing in their complementary courses. I hope that those of you who were able to attend enjoyed the evening. A big thanks to our School Council for coming out to support us last night. Their continued support is greatly appreciated – I do hope parents had a chance to stop by their table and say hello. I would also like to extend a special thank you to Ms. Ashley Tompkins for organizing and setting up the event, and to all the staff and students who supported, performed, and volunteered their time, especially the student leaders from ImPACt. Celebrations such as last night’s could not happen with the support and volunteered time of so many people – thank you!

Next week is our final week before the winter break, and as you know, it’s always a busy time for families, and there is always a lot of hustle and bustle at school as well. We recognize that some students are super excited for the holidays, while others may struggle with the change in routine. Our teachers are aware of this and are prepared to navigate the high emotions that come with this time of year.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, and please reach out if you need anything at all. You can always reach me at nmlisi@cbe.ab.ca.

Best regards,

Dr. Nancy Lisi, Principal
