I hope everyone has had a lovely week! Today our Homerooms spent some time with their “Buddies” building community through a Common Trivia activity. The winning Duo in each paired Homeroom received a small treat. In case you’re wondering, your child should be able to name the largest ocean mammal AND tell you how many provinces are in Canada. J These activities are designed to build community and mentorship opportunities within our school. We are working on ensuring all students feel a sense of belonging at ALS.

I want to thank those of you that came to our School Council on Tuesday. During the meeting I shared that we have received our enrollment projections for the 2024-2025 school year and our enrollment status has changed from “Limited” to “Closed” which means that we will not be accepting student registrations outside of our designated area. The communities designated to Arbour Lake School include Arbour Lake, Citadel, and Hawkwood. Our projected enrollment for 2024-2025 is 844. Currently our enrollment is 780. Students currently enrolled at Arbour Lake School due to their designated school Tom Baines being in overflow, will return to Tom Baines for the 2024-2025 school. This said, Arbour Lake School will continue to be designated as the overflow school for Tom Baines for any new registrations next fall. Please reach out if you have any questions in relation to any of this information.

This weekend all four of our volleyball teams are participating in tournaments. Our Senior Boys’ and Girl’s teams are at Riverside School and our Junior Boys’ and Girls’ teams are at Twelve Mile Coulee. We wish them huge success!! Go Coyotes!

Please check the important dates for some events coming up next week. Please be reminded or our Open House is Thursday, February 29 at 6:30PM. While targeted at incoming students, current families are very welcome to attend. It will be a nice chance to see some of the learning happening at ALS.

May you all have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Nancy Lisi, Principal
