Happy New Year ALS Families!
Welcome back. I hope everyone was able to enjoy some time over the winter break with family and friends and that the break provided an opportunity to rest and recharge. We jumped right back into the swing of things this week at Arbour Lake School, and it was great to see students return with energy and enthusiasm.
A big congratulations goes out to all students who tried out for our volleyball teams. Putting yourself forward takes courage, and we are proud of every student who participated. Congratulations as well to those students selected for our junior and senior boys’ and girls’ teams. We look forward to a great season ahead.
Congratulations also to the students selected for ImPACt. Each year we receive dozens of applications, and selection is always a challenging process. We work hard to balance continuity in the work of the council with opportunities for new voices and perspectives. Thank you to all students who put their names forward. We are excited to begin this work, albeit on a slightly modified meeting schedule this year.
Looking ahead to next week, our Grade 6 students will be visiting the Sam Centre as part of their learning. Also please note that our Winter Festival of Learning is scheduled for January 22, 2025. I hope you’re able to put this on your calendar. I would be great to have you come and join us in celebrating the learning of our students.
A reminder to families that semester one report cards are delayed this year by approximately one month. That said, families should have a clear sense of how their child is doing at this point in the year. Please continue to check PowerSchool regularly, and do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teachers if you have any questions or concerns.
As always, thank you for your continued support. Have a wonderful weekend, and please feel free to reach out if you need anything at nmlisi@cbe.ab.ca.
Warm regards,
Dr. Nancy Lisi
Principal, Arbour Lake School
