Dear Parents and Guardians,

What an energetic week it has been! As we head into Spring Break, the excitement in the building has been contagious. Our noon-hour activities have been a big hit, with teachers competing against our volleyball teams to wind up the season. These activities brought great spirit and plenty of enthusiastic spectators.

Today, we also took time to recognize the upcoming Spring Equinox. Students participated in activities highlighting the significance of the spring solstice across cultures, including gratitude flowers and a spring scavenger hunt. It was a wonderful way to embrace the season of renewal and growth!

Please be reminded that Parent-Teacher Conferences are taking place tonight (4:00–8:00 PM) and tomorrow (8:00 AM–1:00 PM). Please note that all conferences are online—no staff will be at the school during these times.

Finally, I want to take a moment to thank all parents and guardians who participated in the School Planning Engagement Survey on our School Development Plan and school fees. Your feedback is truly appreciated and plays a valuable role in shaping our decisions for the 2025–2026 school year. While the School Development Plan aligns with the CBE Education Plan, school fees are largely set at the school level, where we have some flexibility in how they are managed. Based on feedback from last year, we made changes this year, including sending out a detailed breakdown of planned field trips at the start of the school year and identifying fees when planning complementary programming. We also continue to seek support from our School Council to help offset costs for off-campus learning opportunities, making these experiences more accessible for all students. Our School Council has been incredibly generous, and we are grateful for their ongoing commitment to enriching student learning. Links to the feedback are included in the “Announcements” section and will be posted to the school website after Spring break. As we look ahead to the next school year, we remain committed to listening to your input and making adjustments where possible to best support our students and families. Thank you for your continued engagement – it is invaluable.

Wishing all of our families a restful and joyful Spring Break! As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything at nmlisi@cbe.ab.ca.

Warm regards,

Dr. Nancy Lisi
