Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope you’re all staying warm as we navigate these chilly days! I wanted to take a moment to clarify our indoor lunch policy during cold weather. As a reminder, we typically call for an indoor lunch when the temperature is -20°C or colder. Unfortunately, today our weather source indicated a higher temperature, but when we checked in later with our other network, we realized it was indeed below -20°C with the windchill. I apologize for this as we should have called an indoor lunch and we did not. Of course, any students who wished to come inside were welcome to do so, and many of them chose to stay in for clubs or other activities anyhow. I wanted to share this with you so you are aware of the process we use in determining whether lunch will be held indoors or outdoors and specifically the details around today’s lunch. Moving forward we will ensure to check both weather networks when making this decision.

On a brighter note, congratulations to our Senior Girls Basketball team for finishing in first place in their division last Friday and securing the championship for the second year in a row! A huge thank you to Ms. Rehman and Ms. McKeon for their dedication and support in coaching the team, often taking time away from their own families to make this all possible.

A quick reminder that Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held tonight from 4-8 p.m. and tomorrow from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. All conferences will be held online, unless you have specifically requested an in-person meeting. As such, students will not have classes tomorrow. I look forward to connecting with many of you during these sessions.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead! If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at nmlisi@cbe.ab.ca.

Warm regards,

Dr. Nancy Lisi,

Principal
